Paper Caps for Postal Tubes.
As an organisation
Art Packaging has always been invested in minimising environmentally
damaging practices & products wherever possible. Since our
incorporation in 2002, and even before that, we have attempted to
introduce more environmentally friendly alternatives for everyday items
including packaging products. We were early adopters of plant starch
based packing peanuts as a replacement for polystyrene. We also
pioneered the use of cardboard clothes hangers to help reduce the
millions of plastic hangers that find their way into landfill each year.
As
one of the UK's leading producers and suppliers of postal tubes it was
only natural that we would be working to offer clients the option of
paper postal tube caps where suitable. Of course plastic caps are fully
recyclable and don't cause problems when used to secure postal tubes
sent to people that recycle responsibly. However, we do understand that
many of our clients prefer to use paper or cardboard caps for their
cardboard tube mailings. We have therefore introduced paper postal tube
caps for the two most common diameters, 2" (50mm) & 3" (75/76mm) and
are currently working on tooling for a 4" (100mm) version. Whilst the
cost of paper caps is initially higher than that for plastic caps – we
anticipate that demand for the product will eventually allow prices to
be reduced as production increases and naturally leads to cost savings.
